Faster than it seems, the festive season is upon us, and what better way to signify its arrival than the traditional lighting of the King George Square Christmas Tree in Brisbane?
A truly wonderful tradition stemming back to the 60s (more than 50 years ago!), and as can be seen below, the tree has come a long way over the many years. This year, the lighting of Queensland’s largest solar-powered Christmas tree will be accompanied by a special Christmas performance, Christmas carols, and an incredible light show across city hall. The tree will be lighting up the sky every night until Christmas Eve, a perfect beacon for the man in red and white, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to enjoy its beauty over the coming weeks.
Here at Robertson Gardens, not far from the spectacular light show, we constantly strive to bring to our guests the kindness and giving spirit that is the embodiment of Christmas – not just this season, but all year round. And while our own decorations may be slightly more modest, you’re sure to spy some sneaky tinsel and baubles as we ring in the Christmas cheer around the hotel.
Try to make it into the city this Friday to view the amazing spectacle first-hand:
