If you’re a Queenslander, this Saturday (March 19th), the polls are open to vote in the 2016 Brisbane City Council elections. There’s a lot of buzz this year as the contest for Brisbane City Council is in the spotlight. Brisbane is the largest local government body in Australia, with a population larger than the Northern Territory, ACT, and Tasmania combined. As 2016 is a federal election year, the fact that Brisbane City Council is being contested by the same major parties that contest state and federal election is sure to spark up political action nationwide.
Needless to say, you probably want your vote to count towards such a significant outcome. So, consider this your friendly reminder to vote on Saturday, and then, hopefully, we can all enjoy fewer junky pamphlets in our mailboxes (at least for a little while). 😉
