This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Food of Orange District (F.O.O.D) Week festival. It is the longest running regional food festival in Australia, and celebrates the region of Orange in New South Wales and its abundance and diversity of the regional produce and wines the district creates.
A number of signature events designed to appeal to residents and visitors will be taking place at the festival, as well as over 90 satellite events held by local restaurants, cafes, and wineries. The ten-day feast to indulge the senses goes from April 8 to April 17.
As a property with very fertile soil (whose grounds used to be prime farming territory), we’re very interested to see what kind of creative and clever dishes the people of Orange in NSW will come up with. Check out their website for tickets to the special events, more information, and a heap of gorgeous photo galleries showcasing past events and the spectacular creations the festival showcases. There’s also an absolutely delicious looking hazelnut, olive oil and fig cake with salted caramel recipe available to celebrate F.O.O.D Week’s 25th anniversary. Yum!
